1. How do I make a GIF?
Choose a video, drag the start and end handles, then choose a width and frame rate. Download GIF converts and starts the download in one click. If your browser blocks the automatic download, click Download GIF again to save the ready file without converting again. Add another opens the file picker for your next video. Try a five-second clip at 480 px and 15 fps to start.
2. Is my video uploaded?
No. Your video, frames and GIF stay on your device. The conversion engine downloads on first use (about 32 MB). Website analytics follow your privacy choices; they do not receive your files or filenames.
3. Which videos work?
Start with MP4 or WebM. Preview support depends on the codecs your browser can play, not just the filename extension. Choose one video at a time. Videos over 200 MB show a warning, but are not blocked. Large videos can slow down or freeze your browser, especially on mobile. Conversion may fail if your device runs out of memory; smaller files can also exceed device limits.
4. Why is my GIF large or slow to create?
GIFs can be much larger than videos and support at most 256 colors per frame, with no audio. Shorter clips, a smaller width and fewer frames per second reduce size and processing time. Phones may take longer. You can cancel and try smaller settings.
5. Can I crop and resize the GIF?
Yes. A crop area is selected when you add a video. Drag it to move it or drag a corner to resize it. Choose No cropping to use the full video frame. Set output width or height in pixels; the link control preserves proportions. Trimming selects the time range, while cropping selects the part of the picture to keep.
6. Is this GIF maker free and without a watermark?
Yes. Creating and downloading GIFs is free, with no account required and no added watermark. Your source video is not modified. You can rename the output before downloading and use Add another to choose your next video.
